Equine Assisted Learning Foundations

Two women caring for a brown horse outdoors at a stable.

From Activities to Transformation

Many people enter Equine Assisted Learning with a collection of activities, exercises, and ideas. Yet the most impactful programs are not defined by the activities themselves, but by the learning that emerges through thoughtful facilitation, intentional design, and meaningful interaction with the horse.

Equine Assisted Learning Foundations provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and framework necessary to create safe, ethical, and effective learning experiences that promote personal growth, leadership, communication, teamwork, self-awareness, and life skills development.

Designed for equine professionals, educators, therapeutic riding instructors, mental health professionals, program staff, and aspiring facilitators, this workshop explores the core principles that distinguish Equine Assisted Learning from recreation, horsemanship instruction, and other equine-related activities.

Participants leave with a deeper understanding of how to create experiences that foster discovery, reflection, insight, and lasting change.

More Than Activities

Successful Equine Assisted Learning is not about having the perfect activity.

It is about understanding how horses influence the learning process, how participants construct meaning from their experiences, and how facilitators create the conditions for learning to occur.

Throughout the workshop, participants engage in experiential activities, guided discussions, demonstrations, and practical applications designed to bridge theory and practice.

Whether you are new to Equine Assisted Learning or seeking to strengthen your existing facilitation skills, this workshop provides a foundation upon which effective programs can be built.

This workshop is the beginning of that journey.

Participants leave not only with new knowledge and skills, but with a deeper appreciation for the transformative potential of learning with horses.Stay up-to-date with the latest educational news and trends by reading our blog.
